FAQ

In IVF, gas equipment includes CO2 incubators, which provide a controlled environment for embryo culture; gas mixers, for ensuring precise gas concentrations in incubators; and portable gas analyzers, for monitoring air quality. These tools play a critical role in maintaining optimal conditions for successful embryo development during the IVF process.

Nitrogen is often used in IVF laboratories as a cryoprotectant gas. It is used for freezing and storing embryos and gametes (sperm and eggs) through a process called vitrification. Liquid nitrogen is employed to rapidly cool cells, preventing ice crystal formation that could damage delicate structures.

In IVF, an incubator is a specialized piece of equipment used to create and maintain a controlled environment for growing embryos outside the human body. These incubators provide a stable and optimal environment with precise temperature, humidity and gas concentration levels (usually CO2) to support the development of embryos during the crucial stage of fertilization and early cell division. This controlled environment enhances the chances of successful embryo growth. Once an embryo grows sufficiently in an incubator, it can be transferred back into the uterus.
