Description
The Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant is used for filtering landfill leachate and wastewater using up to three purification stages to achieve a water outflow discharge of high quality. The membranes used in the RO system have high selectivity retaining nearly all dissolved substances including Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and allowing only the diffusion of water molecules and a tiny fraction of these dissolved substances. The retention amount depends on the type of substance, varying between 85%‑100%.
The system is completely installed inside one 40-ft high cube marine-type container and is constructed to receive the direct feed of leachate or wastewater from storage lagoons or tanks. Alternatively, the contained system is a highly mobile solution as the containers can be transferred to another landfill site or facility and quickly put into operation.
